Fagmag is a Chicago-born queer magazine showcasing provocative, uncensored work from brave, boundary-pushing artists. It’s crafted by and for those that want to live without restriction.
Issue 1: Cruising
A dark room, a lone red light slowly pulsating. Bodies slip past, faces in shadow, hands reaching, pulling, inviting. The park after dusk, past the second fork in the path. Furtive glances, a subtle nod of the head. The empty lot four blocks down, next to the empty storefront. No words spoken, just bodies colliding, needing, finishing, departing.
Fagmag’s inaugural issue celebrates the carnal, intimate exploration of cruising.
Through imagery and text, we invite you to share your interpretation and experiences of cruising—the real, the idealized, and the fantasized.
Issue one intends to launch winter 2026.
Work we accept
Fagmag is comprised of both visual arts and the written word. We welcome creatives and storytellers from a variety of mediums. Photography, memoirs, drawings, essays, collages, interviews, and more are welcome.

Depends how many good submissions we get. This is our first issue, so we're letting the work drive the format — not the other way around.

No. Never. Not ever.

You do. Always. By submitting, you're giving us permission to publish your work in print, on our site, and on our socials — that's it. We're not in the IP-grabbing business.

Not yet. We're a nights-and-weekends operation built on spite and passion. No money moves during submission. If that changes, you'll hear from us first.

Yes — send us everything you want considered. We review it all and may select one piece or several. Quality over quantity, but we're not counting.

Yes. Some work is personal, and we get it. Submit anonymously if you need to — we just ask that you confirm you're 18+ and own the rights to the work.

Yes. We center queer voices, so work by LGBTQ+ artists gets priority — but if your work is in genuine conversation with our community, we're listening.

Of course. Fagmag contains multitudes. Eroticism has a home here, but it's not a cover charge.

Yes. What we're selecting for is artistic intention — work that uses sexuality as a lens, a subject, or a medium with something to say. If that's you, send it. Pure commercial content isn't a fit, but that's about craft, not content.

Intentionally. We don't select work based on identity alone, but we pay close attention to who's in the room when we're making the issue. Representation isn't an afterthought.

Due to volume, we can only follow up on submissions we're moving forward with. But we read everything — nothing goes unlooked at.
